About Jaqueline Reid Nakamarra
Jacqueline is the late Makinti Napanangka’s daughter. Her paintings are evocative of Makinti’s and feature imagery linked with Lupul, also known as Lupulnga, a rockhole south of Kintore in Central Australia.
The linear components depict sandhills, but they also refer to hairstring, which is human hair spun by women and used for belts or skirts worn by Pintupi Aboriginal women during ceremonies.
